1/2 cup molasses 1/2 cup sugar 1/4 teaspoon vinegar 1/4 cup water 1 1/4 tablespoons butter 1/4 teaspoon salt 6 cups popcorn, popped
combine molasses, water, vinegar, sugar and salt. Cook slowly without stirring until small quantity dropped in cold water forms threads. Remove from heat, add butter and stir only enough to mix. Pour over popcorn, stirring constantly. Shape into balls and be quick about it. Molasses is inclined to cling to the cup or spoon or whatever you use to measure with. It will flow easily and will not cling if you grease the measure or rinse it in cold water.
