Instant Pot Pot Roast
This is my first attempt at the instant pot.
- 1.5 lb Chuck Roast
- Flour to coat meat
- olive or grapeseed oil
- 1.5 cup Beef Broth
- Small onion cut up
- Fresh Cut up Mushrooms
- Potatoes
- Carrots
- some baby collards “optional”
- onion powder
- salt
- white pepper
- garlic
- 1 tsp Kitchen Bouquet “just a little of this goes a long way”
- 1 tsp Knorr Liquid Seasoning
- 1/2 to 1 tsp liquid smoke “to taste” “Less is more”
- 1 tbsp or more Hemp Seeds “optional”
I seasoned the meat white pepper, salt, onion powder, i coated the meat with lite layer of flour.
Sear the roast in a hot frying pan, 3-4 minutes per side or until browned. “i know i can use the instant pot for this but, you must scrape up any browned bits on bottom of your inner pot, so you won’t get a burn notice.”
i put the roast on a plate.
in the same pan i brown the onion that i cut up, i add onion to a oiled instant pot inner pot.
i start to wilt the mushrooms in same pan.
i place the roast in, i add around the roast potatoes, carrots, Mushrooms and baby collards on top.
i season with a mix of, powdered onion, hemp seeds, garlic parsley, salt, white pepper, i mix 3 tilts of the bottle liquid smoke, 5 tilts of the bottle knorr liquid seasoning, 1 tsp kitchen bouquet, with the beef broth, and add this to pot.
cook correct time for weight of meat for this we went with 35 minutes, high pressure, with 10 minutes cool down.
